The Private NYC Pizza and Gelato Challenge allows participants to become culinary critics as they are led through three different downtown neighborhoods – including South Village, West Village and Union Square – sampling pizza from four pizzerias and gelato from two gelateries while rating each as they go. Along the journey they will be schooled in the history of pizza in New York City and learn how gelato is made as well as how it’s different from ice cream – all this by a well-respected culinary historian, cookbook author and culinary educator with a specialty in fine chocolate and other artisanal foods, who serves as their expert tour guide. The cost of this three-hour tour is $649.00 for up to eight guests plus a food tasting fee of $60.00 per participant. Transfer via a luxury vehicle can be added at an additional cost.
