The area forming a triangle between Syracuse, Rochester, and Elmira-Corning, the lakes—Canadice, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Conesus, Hemlock, Honeoye, Keuka, Otisco, Owasco, Seneca, and Skaneateles—were created during the last ice age when the glaciers receded, carving deep lakes from stream valleys is what is commonly referred to as the Finger Lakes. Aside from stunning nature with dazzling waterfalls, the Finger Lakes is also known for producing excellent wines and the Cayuga Wine Trail is one of the most popular attractions.
Cayuga wine trail is one of the longest-running wine trails in America and was first established in 1983 to promote wineries within the Cayuga Lake American Viticultural Area. Along the Cayuga wine trail, guests can taste wine that has earned over 6000 national and international medals while taking in the luminous views of Cayuga Lake and rolling vineyards.
During this private wine tour, you will get to enjoy tastings at some carefully selected Cayuga wineries. Guests will visit two different locations where they will enjoy sampling or wine as well as some chocolate or cheese-paring. Guests will get a firsthand overview of wine production and specialty products at each winery. A lighter picnic-style lunch will also be served on site.
