Eating Your Way Through Manhattan NYC Food Tour

Ask any food lover – there’s no better way to get to know a city than to eat its food. And there’s no food tour more comprehensive than Beyond Times Square’s Eating Your Way Through Manhattan NYC Food Tour.

Starting in Midtown Manhattan you’ll work your way down the island to what’s referred to as Downtown with your private, licensed tour guide.   This half-day experience covers all of the NYC neighborhoods that are known for their great food – from Hell’s Kitchen to Little Italy to Greenwich Village to the Lower East Side.

And, since the experience spans from Midtown down through LES, it comes with a private luxury vehicle to get you from one tasty neighborhood treat to the next – learning about the island and the landmarks you pass along the way.

As for the fare – it varies – but you’ll hit a total of four or five stops including one of the trendy, ethnic restaurants found on Ninth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, and one of the many trattorias, pizzerias and delis The Big Apple is famous for as you eat your way through some of the most popular neighborhoods in Manhattan.

The delectable delights on this NYC private tour will excite your stomach and are more than enough for lunch.

Sample Itinerary & Highlights

*Please Note: This is a sample itinerary – the final itinerary is at the guide’s discretion.

  • Your food and culture experience begins when your expert tour guide and driver arrive to pick you up in your private luxury vehicle.
  • Your tour may start with a bite in Hell’s Kitchen, which is the home of various international cuisines and numerous trendy popular restaurants.
  • From there it’s on to a tasting in Greenwich Village which is often referred to as just “The Village” or “West Village” and is home to many popular cafes, bars, and restaurants.
  • No NYC food tour would be complete without a visit to Little Italy, so that is where you are off to next! Here you’ll enjoy an authentic Italian treat from one of the seemingly infinite dining options.
  • Next stop is the Lower East Village, aka LES. LES has a fabulous food scene and is the home to a plethora of delis – many of Jewish heritage – among various other dining options.
  • In total you’ll make four to five food stops along your journey. At each stop, you’ll step out of the vehicle while your tour guide gets your tastings. As you are enjoying your fare, you’ll not only learn about the food you are sampling, but also about the history, hidden gems and little-known facts of the neighborhoods you are visiting.
  • Some examples of what you might be sampling include a cheesy slice of NYC pizza, one of those famous NYC hotdogs, oh-so-decadent homemade Sicilian cannoli, Norwegian smoked salmon (an NYC favorite) on, yes, the equally famous NYC bagel, spanakopita which is Greek spinach pie, a mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich and a delicious Chinese dumpling.
  • Along the way you may see some of New York City’s most well-known attractions and locales including Chinatown, Tribeca, Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Hall and more!
  • Tastings are subject to change based on guests’ food restrictions, itinerary and restaurant opening hours.
  • All stops, timing and inclusions of the tour are dependent on traffic and weather conditions.
  • The itinerary is subject to change based on starting point of the tour as well as any restrictions on that day such as traffic, road closures, etc.
