Take a look at what’s hot in the automotive industry from April 6-15, 2012. That means more sneak peeks, more brand new ’12 & ’13 production models and more concept vehicles than ever before.
Most New Yorker’s do not even have a driver’s license, so this has always been a very interesting location for a car show!
What is exciting is the look of the new taxis starting next year. Nissan won a contest to upgrade the iconic fleet to create 13,000 cars over 10 years. In late 2013, all of the city’s cab companies must begin phasing in the Nissan NV200. The Taxi and Limousine Commission said older cabs will be replaced by 2018. The new cabs, at $29,000 each will feature sliding doors, UBS chargers and more leg room, reading lights and interior floor lightning, a flat, no hump floor, air bags that can work around the partition. . The vehicles will also come with GPS. This still means that only four passengers can be accommodate in each vehicle wiht three in the back and one in the front with the driver. So, families with three children and two parents will need more than one cab.
