Explore the Meatpacking District and Chelsea from above the street level as you walk along the new section of the High Line. You loved the first section of the High Line and now the second section has finally opened between 20th and 30th Streets.
The hot new “place to be, and be seen” is definitely along the High Line. You’d have a hard time finding anyone wanting to venture into this neighborhood 10 years ago and now people are excited to see the changes. Locals and international tourists are spending hours enjoying the views along the Hudson River and the city skyline.
This elevated park in the sky has literally transformed the neighborhood. Apartment rents are up 100% in some buildings and new condominiums are opening with views to the High Line. The galleries are continuing to open so that you can come down and stroll through a myriad of artwork! The Lot is a temporary public plaza below the High Line’s northern terminus. Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of new public amenities including public art, free events and family activities, beer and wine, and concessions from food trucks for light nibbles. Remember some of New York’s hottest restaurants are located here including Buddakan, Colicchio & Sons, Morimoto and Del Posto.
The Lot will be open throughout the summer, daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sunday through Wednesday, and 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM Thursday through Saturday. Rainbow City presented by AOL will be open at 8:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.
