Across the River: Arlington Cemetery

Located just across the Potomac on 624 acres is Arlington National Cemetery. Established during the Civil War, it is the final resting place for presidents and for more than 400,000 active duty service members, veterans, and their families. 
On your walk, you will see the Tomb of the Unknown, the grave site of President John F. Kennedy and Arlington House, which has stood on this site since 1805. You will also see the Air Force Memorial and Marine Corps War Memorial, better known as Iwo Jima.

On the Potomac River, between Washington, DC and Arlington is Alexandria, VA. A nationally designated historic district with beautifully preserved 18th and 19th century architecture, Alexandria was originally laid out by a young George Washington. While in Old Town, your guide will mesmerize you with tales of the little know pieces of America History. But there is more. Old town is home to chef-driven restaurants, a chic boutique scene, vibrant arts and culture and a welcoming, walkable lifestyle. Before your tour with your guide, you can have lunch in one of the many local eateries.
