We would like to introduce you to the guides that will be sharing their New York City knowledge with you as you set out on your adventure. Collectively there is hundreds of years of New York City expertise and stories coming from the guides of Beyond Times Square. All of our guides are official professional, expert,  and licensed by the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.. Many of them have actors, writers, former teachers and professionals, but all will  keep you entertained throughout your entire program. As proud as our guides are of the city they live and talk about, we are proud to have them share their experiences with you!

Sherry is a Broadway actress and opera singer living out her dream of working and playing in New York City, so being an NYC Tour Guide comes naturally. Sherry thrives on sharing her enthusiasm and wonder of the city’s rich and notorious history while encouraging clients to fully experience what it means to be a New Yorker today. Her charm and outgoing personality make her a extraordinary ambassador for New York City.  Her passion for the city is obvious in every word.

Albert is a Broadway and TV actor and teacher in New York City: a great combination of skills to provide the best tour guide experience for your visit to New York where he have have lived for 20 years. Albert has been privileged to teach communication and travel the world over, living in Europe and Asia for a few years. It is that experience that allows him to share educational and fun information about New York. It also allows Albert to connect to with people of all ages and backgrounds ensuring a most memorable trip. He looks forward to show you NYC  soon!

Eric Gordon, founder of Beyond Times Square, literally grew up in the travel industry. Prior to starting Beyond Times Square, Eric served as President of Park East-one of the leading companies in wildlife viewing safaris to Africa.

Eric’s father, Harold Gordon, launched Park East and was considered a pioneer in introducing the African safari to the American traveler.

Eric began working in the family business in New York City in 1988 and took on roles of increasing importance. He oversaw the company’s expansion into a broad range of nature destinations, including South and Central America and Antarctica. During that time, the company created travel programs for some of the most prestigious zoological societies, museums and educational institutions. In 1997, Eric purchased Park East from his father. To take Park East to the next level, Eric sold the business in 2000 and continued as President.

While Eric has traveled extensively (his first safari to Africa was at age 2), he was always fascinated with something closer to home: New York City. After transitioning Park East to its new owner, Eric created Beyond Times Square. He explains, “New York City is the most interesting place in the world. I’ve always lived and worked in and around the city. I want to share it with other people, but I want to go beyond the typical tourist spots. I want to show people the real New York-the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live, work and play.” Eric’s thinking led to the idea for Beyond Times Square.

Eric invites you to discover the real New York. He and the professional staff at Beyond Times Square know the ins and outs of the city-and look forward to sharing it with you. Eric lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Catherine.

Robin’s engaging personality is shown not only from her Miss Congeniality Award she won at the Miss NH USA Pageant but also through her diverse career in the last 20 years.

Her career began in the Fashion Industry where her customer service skills were polished, initializing the building blocks of her future.

In 1999 she began working for the Norfolk, VA Convention & Visitors Bureau, she was instantly captivated and fell in love with the Hospitality, Tour & Travel Industry.

“Everything happens for a reason” is an expression that speaks volumes for Robin. She is more than thrilled at the opportunity to be part of the Beyond Times Square Team. With her experiences in the Sales Capacity ranging from NYC & Company, The Official Tourism & Marketing Agency of New York City, The Grand Hyatt New York to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant in Times Square; each journey has refined her skills and given her the knowledge to provide every customer a successful and everlasting experience with Beyond Times Square.

Alvin Alexis is a native born New Yorker and has worked as an Independent Licensed Tour Guide for the last 14yrs. He is also a performing artist having worked in a variety of Film, TV, and Theater. Alvin is very flexible and caters to the individual groups interest. He has worked with a variety of age ranges from elementary schools to senior citizens.

Giving a good tour is not simply a matter of expounding a great deal of facts and figures or pointing out interesting buildings and celebrities homes. It is the art of telling the city’s stories in an engaging, compelling and moving way. Matthew Cummings is a master of this art; he tells true and fascinating stories of New York’s past and more recent history in a way that makes the brick and mortar whisper of those who walked these streets. Matthew is a native New Yorker, with antecedents going back to the original Dutch settlers of New Amsterdam, and a graduate of the City College of New York where he won the Ward Medal in History. His previous occupations have ranged from taxi driver to headhunter but since becoming a tour guide Matthew feels that he has found his calling!

Jared enthusiastically and passionately showcases New York City’s history, architecture, artistic, literary, ecological and social history, sharing dramatic stories, told with high-energy, intensity, dry humor, and intelligence. He enjoys the testimonials and photographs from repeat guests, local and from the other end of the globe.

He approaches guiding with dedication to customer service, friendliness, and a desire for clients to get the most from their tours. Jared’s tour-style is interactive, appropriate for children to the elderly, including people with special physical needs. To liven things up, he includes NYC references from pop-culture

Jared pursues NYC research to improve his tours, and is working on two books about New York City. He is a proud New Yorker, showing off New York City for twenty-four years, professionally licensed with a ‘Star’ score on the 150-question NYC Consumer Affairs Department exam since 2005. He has served as Vice President of the Guides Association of NYC, and revived its publication as Editor. Jared was educated at Columbia University’s College (B.A.) and its Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.).
